For your information

The fees for the Incumbent (vicar) and the Parish are laid down by Parliament on the 1 January each year.

Fees payable to the Incumbent (vicar) are computed as part of his/her standard stipend (income), and therefore do not benefit them personally.

Collections at Weddings at St Nicholas during 2007 are divided between Church Funds & Christian Youth Work in Cramlington. Gift Aid envelopes in pews may be used for this purpose.

You may want to print out this page and keep it in a handy place for reference until your wedding day.

1. The Marriage Preparation Course
We believe that doing this course will significantly increase the likelihood of your marriage being life long. We accept your booking for a wedding on the understanding that you will do your utmost to attend the course. The course for 2008 weddings will be during October and November 2007.
2. The Law concerning the calling of Banns
For a marriage to take place at St Nicholas' Church the Law requires one party to be resident in Cramlington during the calling of the Banns - normally for two months before the wedding.
It is the responsibility of the party not living in Cramlington to arrange for Banns to be called in their own parish church and to bring the Certificate of Banns to the Minister taking the service ONE WEEK before the marriage.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE LAW COULD RESULT IN YOUR MARRIAGE NOT TAKING PLACE.
3. Fees
Are paid in cash at the rehearsal. Please consult the minister conducting the service as to whether this is to be in cash or a cheque. Please include a small number of low denomination notes.
4. Music and Hymns
You MUST consult with the minister taking the service before making any decisions or having anything printed. The organists’ fee includes use of the sound system and organist as sound technician.
5. Photographs and Video Recordings
Only one official still photographer and one official video photographer are permitted by arrangement with the minister taking the service. If you wish to video record your wedding please read carefully the special forms provided and note that the organist's fee is doubled. Please tell your photographer that you must vacate the church within the hour that your wedding is to take place.
6. Flowers
The fee charged is for flowers only, our flower arrangers give their services free. The flowers remain in church for Sunday morning after which they may be used as gifts for the sick or housebound.
Please contact Mrs. Sandra Stewart (tel no 01670 716543), no later than 4 weeks before the date of the wedding to discuss colours. Mrs Stewart is happy to accept telephone enquiries, too.
