Church of England in Cramlington

There are three Church of England churches in Cramlington. In the old village centre is St. Nicholas' Church, from which in 1993 ten families set out to plant two new churches in the town. St. Nicholas' Church, Cramlington village
We realised that not many people from the new estates of this rapidly growing new town were attending the church in the village, and so we decided to take the church to the people.

St Peter's meets in Northburn First School and St Andrew's in the Community Centre at Beaconhill.

Northburn School was a new First School, completed just the year before the start of St. Peter's. It has a very environmentally friendly ethos and has won many awards for work done by the staff and pupils.

St Andrew's started to meet in an old portable community centre building but soon moved into an adjacent school hall. Members of the church were instrumental in working with the local community to raise money from lottery funds to build the new Community Centre building which they now use.
